In the height of the COVID-19 pandemic, and after a short closure of our Malaysia plant in March/April 2020 due to local government requirements, our production facilities proceeded to operate at full capacity serving customers and project sites across Asia. We would like to take this opportunity to thank our office and production staff for their patience and compliance with our stringent hygiene and safe distancing guidelines.
Our Malaysia plant has also upgraded its production capabilities and is now able to manufacture products which were previously sourced from factories around the world. Notably, some of these products include Nullifire SC902, TREMproof FCW and TREMproof M.
Many people may remember 2020 as the year of video calls and working from home. But while our office staff adopted a temporary work from home culture, behind the scenes we prepared to move into a new office in Hong Kong, as well as new office & warehouse facilities in QLD & NSW Australia. Once normality is resumed, these moves will allow for greater collaboration between historically separate Tremco and Flowcrete offices, working together to offer customers a higher level of support.
Finally, following a successful 25 years serving the Asia Pacific region, we have signed confirmation of construction on a new manufacturing facility in Malaysia. After a short delay due to the local government’s Movement Control Order (MCO), construction will begin in January 2021 and is expected to be completed within two years. The new facility will be three times larger than our existing facility and strengthen our foothold in the Asia Pacific market.
