To celebrate the season of giving, Tremco CPG (Singapore Office) staff volunteers put together Holiday Care Packs for 120 of its affiliated product applicators in Singapore.
This is part of the company’s initiative to support and improve the local communities, with special attention given to those in the construction and building industry. This year, Tremco CPG pledged to extend its generosity towards the migrant workers whose lives and livelihoods have been the most adversely affected by the COVID-19 pandemic.
In Singapore, the demographic with the highest infection rates were the migrant workers living in shared dormitories. At its peak, an average of 1,400 cases of new infections were recorded daily, with a majority from the dormitory-dwelling workers in the construction industry. As a result, the Singapore government implemented a nation-wide lockdown for approximately two months, and many of the workers had to endure numerous rounds of medical testing and faced months of delayed work and subsequent isolation.
To give thanks and spread some festive cheer, Tremco CPG APAC gifted each recipient with a Holiday Care Pack containing packaged snacks, a food container, a face mask and some personal care items.
“These workers have been through incredible hardship and suffering, and many of them have been away from their families for an unexpectedly long period. This Holiday Care Pack is a way for us to do something meaningful to uplift their spirits during this holiday season”, said Shevonne Kok, Country Manager for Singapore.
To reinforce the idea of giving back to society, Chong Hwee Ling, Finance Director of APAC says, “Tremco CPG APAC believes that this initiative serves as a timely reminder that a small gesture of kindness goes a long way in making a difference in someone else’s life.”
The gifts were presented to company officials by the local leadership team in appreciation of their unfailing support, dedication, and cooperation in building a better and safer building environment.
