Asan, Korea – On 12th November 2021, members of the Tremco CPG Korea team went to the homes of some local seniors to distribute Kimchi.

Every year, at the start of winter, the chef, and a few service workers from the Tremco CPG Korea factory will gather to make Kimchi in the warehouse compound. After which, they will distribute the in-house kimchi to the elderly and less fortunate living around the area.

In Korea, it is customary to prepare and store Kimchi at the beginning of winter in order to have enough vegetables to eat until the following spring. Since Kimchi making is a rather labour-intensive task that requires skill and know-how, the seniors are unable to make the dish on their own.

“This practice has been ongoing for years, and to carry on the tradition not only benefits those who receive the kimchi, but it serves as a bonding activity among the staff”, said Hong Sang Park, Tremco CPG APAC Area Director of North Asia.

“The look on the faces of the senior citizens when they receive the kimchi makes the extra effort worthwhile.”

Kimchi is a preserved vegetable side dish that Koreans eat at every meal and is one of the most famous Korean foods globally, so it was made and given with the hope that the less fortunate will be able to enjoy a more plentiful meal.
